About the course

The 2396 Level 4 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations course will provide you with the learning and practice needed to successfully undertake this important task and job role within the real world.

This 5-Day course requires attendance at a training facility to undertake the theory sections of the qualification. The course is established at a Level 4, which is one of the highest levels of electrical qualifications attained in the United Kingdom.

Note: This is equivalent to 1st Year University study.

The 2396 exams are based on two (2) criteria as follows:

  1. You will be required to undertake a design project in your own time that is calculated to take at least 40 hours of study and activity, and
  2. Centre Invigilated Exam conducted on certain programmed days throughout the year.

The course is based on the requirements of BS7671 and you will be required to interpret and understand the requirements of this standard when undertaking the design task. Your trainer and assessor will be on hand to ensure you are progressing through the course and to provide any further guidance to you throughout the course.

  6. Be able to apply design and verification procedures for single and poly phase electrical installations

About the Design Project:

The Design Project is expected to take you 40 hours to complete. You will be provided with a set of drawings (in various formats) enabling you to complete the design project by applying the principles of the BS7671. Once complete, this will be assessed against the relevant qualification outcomes by your assessor.

About the Centre Invigilated Exam:

The Centre Exam is a written exam and is only conducted on several dates throughout the year. City and Guilds determine these dates and publish them at regular intervals throughout the year. The current forecast dates for the Centre Invigilated Exams are as follows:
